Package: libqtgui4
Version: 4:4.6.3-4
Severity: important
Tags: patch upstream
Dear Qt/KDE maintainers,
printing in QT4 and KDE4 with squeeze is presently not usable in a large
organization
(university or any other work group)
due to defaulting to non-duplex printing, wasting tons of paper and making it
necessary to click everytime on options in the printing GUI and change the
settings for each and
every print job.
This is a known problem in libqtgui4 and a patch exists:
http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=41187
which I installed locally. With the patch everything works as expected and the
duplex setting is taken over from the
CUPS settings.
This is a serious regression from KDE3 and has been fixed so-far on a
distribution
basis (see links below), but not in debian. It stops the adoption of squeeze at
places where lots of printing is done.
Relevant upstream bug reports.
