Source: kde4libs
Version: 4.14.23-1
Severity: normal
User: d...@packages.debian.org
Usertags: dbus-launch default-dbus-session-bus dbus-launch-for-infra
As described in <https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2016/08/msg00554.html>
I'm trying to reduce how much dbus-launch is used in Debian.
kdelibs5-plugins package currently Depends on dbus-x11 as a way to get a
session bus, which is not in the same category of issues as
Bug#835827 etc. with autopkgtest.
As well as fixing the equivalent of Bug#835827 in the autopkgtests,
please change kdelibs5-plugins like this:
-Depends: dbus-x11
+Depends: default-dbus-session-bus | dbus-session-bus
Additionally, kdeui appears to install a script kernel/start-session-bus.sh.
If this is packaged in Debian (I haven't checked), please deprecate that
script in favour of dbus-run-session(1), or make it invoke dbus-daemon
directly like this Flatpak commit:
https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/commit/6cc8062cfb3f9410d54a27e7ccca77c103e441e8
Thanks,
S
