Here's a question though: Since KDE cannot function properly without a window manager, why isn't a window manager in the KDE package dependency chain? I understand some users may prefer a different window system and/or window manager but shouldn't KDE package, by default, include everything that KDE actually needs to run properly? > But again, this is no user support forum.
