Starting it out of a terminal it told me something about not finding some mysql-stuff (I don't have the exact output anymore). I tried to figure out the mysql-akonadi relationsship, found an empty /etc/akonadi directory and an /etc/xdg/akonadi-directory full with mysql-related files. I remembered that I had some trouble with the mysql-backend years ago and decided to purge the mysql-backend because I thought relating to the dependencies it shouldn't be necessary. This also removed mysql-client-core and mysql-server-core. I personally deleted also the empty /etc/akonadi directory. After this I got the output I quoted in the bugreport. Afterwards I reinstalled akonadi backend-mysql which also reinstalled mysql-client-core and mysql-server-core again. And now it works! As you see my strategy wasn't very professional here. I should have written the bug-report before purging akonadi-backend-mysql to get an usable output. So it only remains the fact, that it didn't work before purging the mysql-backend and works now after reinstalling it. Sorry! I wasn't aware of the importance of this backend for making akonadi work. klaumi ----------- Klaus-Michael Klingsporn mail: klaumi...@gmx.de web: www.klaumikli.de
