kdesu doesn't need kdesud. kdesud, Actually kdesud in Debian doesn't work by default, unless you tweak the file permissions and group ownership. If available, can act as a cache, keeping the passwords in memory. This is a sensible operation. At the same time kdesud is not well maintained upstream, upstream hasn't address our questions about it, thus it's disabled by default.
