Hi, currently Debian still ships kdepim (kmail, akregator, ...) in the kde4 versions. They are storing their passwords in the old kwalletd system. With only kwalletmanager5 available users have no way to actually access those passwords.
According to #kde on FreeNode "15.04 was the one that enabled it to be co- installed with kf5-based kwalletmanager, aside of icon file collisions" so please add the old one. Once kmail and friends get updated to use kf5 kwalletd I see another big problem: kwalletd was already upgraded last year and migrated old passwords back then. Every change done since then in the old password storage will most likely be lost once kmail is upgraded, so giving access to the old passwords for people to at least manually fix this issue would be required.
