From here we can assert some things: - The problem is not really libqt5xcbqpa5 but whoever needs it. No, it's not Qt itself (read below). - There is a known workaround and no data is lost, so severity should be kept at most as important. - Normally people who disable recommends will get this problem, and also some cases in where > A similar bug report (closed), there was already in October 2015 strongly > #802656. Right, but that "solution" actually created a circular dependency with libqt5gui5. And moreover Qt5 apps do not necessarily need this dependency, as they normally can work with other QPA plugins. Apps who do really need X11 (kwin-x11 is a good example) should depend on this package. I'm reassigning this bug to kwin-x11 for now. Maxy, feel free to reassign it as needed.
