Interestingly if baloo is installed and disabled from the systemsettings kcm gwenview works fine. I think this is a bug in libkf5baloo5, baloo is supposed to be optional at runtime. I couldn't find an upstream bug about this that is relavant to the baloo version in frameworks. Would it be too much to ask you to report this upstream and add the link of the upstream bug to this report?
