I upgraded these three packages to "unstable" and the problem still exists:
root@phalaris:~# dpkg -l | grep akonadi | grep 1.13 | awk '{print $2, $3}'
akonadi-backend-mysql 1.13.0-7
akonadi-server 1.13.0-7
libakonadiprotocolinternals1 1.13.0-7
Apparently interval mail check has no bearing on its presence, either.
