Please read the thread "So I have a Plasma 5 desktop" on debian-kde mailing
list which is for user support.

At least on amd64 it is perfectly possible to have a Plasma 5 desktop. Just
some metapackages like kde-full and kde-standard are not yet upgraded for
it.

Install at least plasma-desktop, plasma-workspace, kio, kwin-x11. (I don´t
know whether dependencies for kio and kwin-x11 have been added meanwhile.).
Also install sddm. Then select Plasma desktop on login.

But well, it all has been and still is discussed in above thread. Including
issues people have and sometimes work-arounds.

Currently I see mostly three developers working on these packages. Maxy,
Scott and Lisandro. It is a lot of packages. I think its best to have a
little patience – or help – in order for all packages to be upgraded.

Thank you,
