Ah, it is my thinking that gstreamer0.10 is fast on it's way out. The bug in debian with gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg is old and if fixed, would just be a temporary fix before 0.10 goes away.
from a related bug in gstreamer0.10 ( https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=720796): I plan to get rid of all of gstreamer 0.10 in the next months, so let's just let this one go now already :) So, I could poke them about a problem with a package that will be removed soon anyways, or poke you about a more long term solution. Is my understanding correct here? Any idea on when gstreamer will change to 1.0 for this project?
