Package: kde-plasma-desktop Version: 5:84 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
Firs of all, I have no idea which packages is actually responsible for this, so please reassign this bug if needed. I have testing Debian 8 Jessie installed in Virtualbox 4.3.28 (Debian Wheezy amd64 host), and time to time I have to upgrade Virtualbox Additions, but I cannot execute VBoxLinuxAdditions.run from command line if I mount additions ..iso using KDE plasma desktop "Available devices" widget. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I've mounted .iso image with "Available devices" widget, launched Konsole and tried to execute installer: test@debian8:~$ cd /media/cdrom0 test@debian8:/media/cdrom0$ ls 32Bit AUTORUN.INF cert runasroot.sh VBoxSolarisAdditions.pkg VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe 64Bit autorun.sh OS2 VBoxLinuxAdditions.run VBoxWindowsAdditions- amd64.exe VBoxWindowsAdditions-x86.exe test@debian8:/media/cdrom0$ stat ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run File: ‘./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run’ Size: 7136717 Blocks: 13939 IO Block: 2048 regular file Device: b00h/2816d Inode: 1825 Links: 1 Access: (0555/-r-xr-xr-x) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 0/ root) Access: 2015-05-13 19:13:00.000000000 +0300 Modify: 2015-05-13 19:12:56.000000000 +0300 Change: 2015-05-13 19:13:00.000000000 +0300 Birth: - test@debian8:/media/cdrom0$ sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run [sudo] password for test: sudo: unable to execute ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run: Permission denied If i mount manually, it works OK: test@debian8:/$ sudo mount /dev/sr0 /media/cdrom0 mount: /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only test@debian8:/$ cd /media/cdrom0 test@debian8:/media/cdrom0$ ls 32Bit AUTORUN.INF cert runasroot.sh VBoxSolarisAdditions.pkg VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe 64Bit autorun.sh OS2 VBoxLinuxAdditions.run VBoxWindowsAdditions- amd64.exe VBoxWindowsAdditions-x86.exe test@debian8:/media/cdrom0$ stat VBoxLinuxAdditions.run File: ‘VBoxLinuxAdditions.run’ Size: 7136717 Blocks: 13939 IO Block: 2048 regular file Device: b00h/2816d Inode: 1825 Links: 1 Access: (0555/-r-xr-xr-x) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 0/ root) Access: 2015-05-13 19:13:00.000000000 +0300 Modify: 2015-05-13 19:12:56.000000000 +0300 Change: 2015-05-13 19:13:00.000000000 +0300 Birth: - test@debian8:/media/cdrom0$ sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run Verifying archive integrity... All good. As a walkaround, I can use explicit "sh" to execute with KDE mount: $ sudo sh VBoxLinuxAdditions.run * What was the outcome of this action? Cannot launch executable from cdrom when it's mounted using KDE Plasma desktop. * What outcome did you expect instead? I should be able to execute applications from mounted cdrom. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages kde-plasma-desktop depends on: ii kde-baseapps 4:4.14.2-1 ii kde-runtime 4:4.14.2-2 ii kde-workspace 4:4.11.13-2 ii plasma-desktop 4:4.11.13-2 ii udisks2 2.1.3-5 ii upower 0.99.1-3.2 Versions of packages kde-plasma-desktop recommends: ii kdm 4:4.11.13-2 ii xserver-xorg 1:7.7+7 Versions of packages kde-plasma-desktop suggests: pn kde-l10n <none> -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
