* What led up to the situation?
I have updated debian form weezy to jessie. During the update nvidia-legacy
drivier was replaced by nouveau, because the old legacy driver was replaced.
lspci -v |grep -i vga
00:12.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation C68 [GeForce 7050 PV /
nForce 630a] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
I do not know if this is perhabs an nouveau bug.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I have logged in in kdm then kde was not usable.
After I searched a long time, i found one user, using this system can use kde.
I diffed the config files and found out that if I change the setting (sorry,
German): "Arbeitsflächeneffekte beim Start aktivieren" i can use kde as
normal.
After this I could log in to all user and change it, by pressing Alt-Shift-F12
