I use kdm. It seems another upgrade did something since it now works.
I do not remember what exactly was installed at the time, since I tested
with both systemd-sysv and systemd-shim. I thin systemd-logind was there.

loginctl list-sessions
   SESSION        UID USER             SEAT           
         1       1000 edavid           seat0          

I do not know what a "seat" is, so I cannot say wether it is normal or not.
