You shouldn't need any gstreamer 0.10, libs or plugins to use the current phonon version, as it's compiled against libgstream1.0. Borh libraries are incompatible, so the 0.10 plugins won't make any difference to the current gstreamer phonon backend. Maybe you meant that installing gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio fixes the issue for you.
