This bug seems to be fixed for me since KDE version 4.8 (with
compositing enabled)
The problem it's a bit more complicated, I'll explain:
The early versions of KDE 4 (4.3, 4.4) maybe didn't use the GPU
acceleration to rendering basic effects, so this bug (if it's a bug)
doesn't appears
I think that the bug is to be found in libraries (used by KDE to enable
compositing) and upgraded in the same time when KDE has been upgraded.
