Dear Maintainer,
With Dolphin, I tried to copy some files:
1. Open multiple tabs looking at different directories.
2. Select some files, drag them to the title of another tab (without
releasing the mouse button).
3. The UI switches to the other tab.
4. Move the mouse in to the main panel (still without releasing the
button).
5. Poke the shift, ctrl and alt keys to remember which one makes this
drag be a copy operation. The tool tip changes to show what will
happen.
6. Holding the correct key, release the mouse button to copy the files.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I missed step 4, and with the mouse still hovering over the tab title,
poked keys to find out which one makes the drag in to a copy operation.
But while the mouse is over the tab title, all three keys show the
tooltip for a copy operation. Getting the wrong one still moves the
files, but the UI doesn't show that.
