I'm running wheezy and it doesn't work for me, though I can't reproduce the OP's instructions: > To reproduce: Alt+F2, type Dolphin, then click on the "wrench" in the "Run > Dolphin", > then check "Run as a different user" checkbox, enter the username (root) and > password. > Dolphin starts seemingly with the same user's privileges instead of root's, > no error > message or other indication is given that something's wrong. Once I do Alt+F2 and type Dolphin, I see Dolphin/File Manager item but I see no "wrench" and no "Run Dolphin" thingies and I can't find a way to run apps (for example, Dolphin) as root from Alt+F2 either. How did you do it? # aptitude show kde-standard Package: kde-standard State: installed Version: 5:77 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
