I also witnessed this bug both with 4.7.4 and 4.8.3 on Debian on amd64
for upgraded sessions:
what I did was to upgrade from testing to unstable
- crash
installing kde-workspace and other kde related packages from
experimental - also crash.
used :
kde-workspace-bin_4%3a4.7.4-2+b1_amd64.deb
kde-workspace-bin_4%3a4.8.3-2_amd64.deb
kde-workspace-data_4%3a4.7.4-2_all.deb
kde-workspace-data_4%3a4.8.3-2_all.deb
versions :
apt-cache policy kde-workspace-bin
kde-workspace-bin:
Installed: 4:4.7.4-2+b1
Candidate: 4:4.7.4-2+b1
Version table:
*** 4:4.7.4-2+b1 0
But if I tried using a new account without .local and kde folders the
krunner didn't crash (tested only with 4.7.4 ).
you mentioned that you used a patched version with an installation but
what repository hold the fixed version ?
