Hello,
the correct mime type for .chm files is application/x-chm
(see /usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml) because chm is non
standard.
kde 3.5.9 has
mimetypes/application/chm.desktop
which should be renamed and changed:

I'm closing this bug since kdelibs 4 doesn't install the chm mimetype anymore,
now okular-extra-backend does, and it installs it as "x-chm", not "chm".
