Dear Alexander, I am not a developer/packager but a user just like you and I also have the same thing. I think those issues will be resolved as and when KDESC4.7 transition is completed and its going to take quite some time.

The following actions will resolve these dependencies: Remove the following packages: 1) kalzium 2) kdeedu Keep the following packages at their current version: 3) kde-runtime [Not Installed] Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?] What this means that there would be a bunch of stuff I would need to pull in from experimental so its just not libscience4 but perhaps other things as well. As far as transitions are concerned, you should look at http://release.debian.org/transitions/ and more to the point http://release.debian.org/transitions/html/kde4.7.html If you go down the page you see it in depends on libarchive and libpng1.5 transitions being completed. While libarchive is almost on the verge of being completed, libpng1.5 is again held by transitions on numpy, libtiff4-symbols,poppler0.18 and maybe couple of others. All in all, this would take a while. Till all these transitions are not completed I don't think you will see any movement for the better. >From what little I have seen in general of Debian Maintainers they are usually worried of things breaking in unstable/sid as those things will finally reach testing and then stable perhaps. (This is perfectly reasonable on the maintainer's part, please remember its a volunteer effort). The only advice I can give is to have patience. :) Till l8er. -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
