When i start an application via the K-menu (kickoff) then it takes very long for the new window to appear. The bouncing icon even goes away and only afterwards the window comes up. This happpens, e.g. with VLC player, iceape, iceweasel and kopete. When i start those programs by typing their name in konsole, they start quickly. I don't seem to have the problem with kate, which seems to start about equally fast both ways. This seems to affect my notebook only, not my desktop PC.
