I’m the new maintainer of CVS in Debian. The package has been totally replaced by a new one, which differs quite a lot from the old package. For example, no repositories are managed au- tomatically any more, PAM is gone, Kerberos is there (but not supported by me, I only do :local: and :extssh:), the date is again expanded in keywords as upstream does (not ISO 8601, as that breaks digital signatures on checkouts), root isn’t per- mitteded to commit, members of the new system group _cvsadmin can run 'cvs admin', etc; quite a number of bugs are fixed or closed or need reverification; the patches are documented (in the texinfo docs), there is new functionality (like cvs suck, written by user request, beta, needs to be submitted upstream still as well) and cvs-switchrepo. So please do test whether your package still works with sid’s cvs (2:1.12.13+real-5) and fix it if it doesn’t.
