Package: plasma-scriptengine-python Version: 4:4.4.5-7+squeeze1 Severity: important
When using the testing release of KDE4.4, I believe the Python scriptengine included dbus support for Qt4. I did not need to install anything more than plasma-scriptengine-python to use the popular gmail-plasmoid. I do believe other plasmoid's may also require dbus support as well. gmail-plasmoid appears to use dbus to connect with the kwalletd service, which is needed for some plasmoid to work correctly when storing secure passwords. It took me some troubleshooting to finally figure out the cause of the script error, I kept uninstalling and re-installing the plasma-scriptengine-python package as the developers website says, it should be the only dependency. I finally found out about plasmoidviewer to further troubleshoot the issue, and found it to be an import error for dbus.mainloop.qt, and found out the required package was not installed. For other users who may experince the same problem, they might not be so fortunate. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages plasma-scriptengine-python depends on: ii python 2.6.6-3+squeeze6 interactive high-level object-orie ii python-kde4 4:4.4.5-3 Python bindings for the KDE Develo ii python-support 1.0.10 automated rebuilding support for P plasma-scriptengine-python recommends no packages. plasma-scriptengine-python suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
