Matthias F. from upstream kindly suggested that if it is not too late for Squeeze you may have some serious interest to have https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236496 comment #11 backported to 4.4.x . This was fixed for KDE 4.5.0. I personally ran into the issue a couple of times.
