Select View > Split (F3)
And go back tot he menu, it reads:
Select View > Close (F3)
SUGGESTION
This is confusing when you want to "undo" the splt and return to
orignal view, there is no "split" word anywhere. Please preserve the
term for consistency. Few suggestions:
View > Unplit (f3)
Or
View > Split undo (f3)
Or
View > split Close (f3)
