Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
Severity: normal
I have multiple filters set up in KMail, those that contain no "pipe
trough" actions execute just fine. I have bogofilter set up as one of
the last filters, which only have one rule (match .* in any header) that
matches all incoming email. This worked pretty well until I upgraded to
the KDE4 version in testing.
Now, the filtering process goes well for the "simple" filters, but when
execution hits the bogofilter one, bogofilter gets executed, but the
content of the email is left in its original state and the filtering
stops, although on the Advanced page in the "Filter Rules" window
the "If this filter matches, stop processing here" box is unchecked.
The filter actions are the following:
- Remove Header X-Bogosity
- Remove Header X-Attachments
- Pipe through /usr/bin/bogofilter-sqlite -epv
I tried running bogofilter from console, piping mails to its stdin, and
it works fine. I replaced the bogofilter executable with a simple shell
script that touches a file in /tmp and then executes "cat" so I can see,
whether KMail even executes the file or not, and it did.
So what's happening here is that KMail starts the specified program but
ignores its output and then stops the filtering process, as I confirmed
by looking at the "Filter Log Viewer" window.
