Hello Fabian, your problem sounds to me like the now referenced upstream bug. You might want to try a dual-head setup with the latest radeon driver (the free one). Though that would mean loss of 3D support at least until the end of the year, if I remember correctly what glisse said yesterday to someone else on #radeon (IRC). But it would be a way to nail down the culprit (non-free driver or some part of KDE).
