Although it seems appears that you can turn off Klamav via the Kmail filters, 
in fact this does not prevent it from running, it just means that the 
"X-Virus-Flag: no" line does not prefix the email. Duplication and corruption 
are still present.

So I uninstalled Klamav. This fixes both duplication and corruption. It also 
ends the "freeze" that stops Kmail from doing anything while downloading - 
there is another bug for this I think.
