At least kicker and quite likely other KDE apps (konqueror) completely
ignore Contex, Size and actual icon theme when reading icons. Stracing
kicker shows it stat-ing all over the place. 

I have a similar problem on NFS root-ed systems.

Basically the icon load is completely b0rken beyond recognition and the
sole reason nobody notices is that most people run of hard drives.

If this is fixed there will be a considerable improvement in both power
consumption on laptops and in performance.

In the meantime I will try to work around this by
prining /usr/share/icons on the NFS server and rehashing the actual
icons into one directory per size. However, this should be fixed. It is
definitely B0RKEN.
