Hello, kdeprint team, I have discovered that if one starts with a clean CUPS installation, and uses the KDE printer control panel to configure the server (by going to "Print Server -> Configure Server...") it outputs a vastly different CUPS configuration file, that changes some key defaults -- in this case, the group for running the cups backends changes from lp to lpadmin, breaking local parallel and usb printers.
