1) I am using the slideshow screen saver with my photo collection (about 10,000 files in 250 folders) in random order. However, it seems that the it's not really random: we have the feeling that we see some pictures much more often than overs. I took a look at the source code but could not find any problem, however I am not familiar with QT at all...
2) I am cloning my screen to my TV. In the slideshow I see 2 pictures overlapping. Apparently the system detects 2 desktops but doesn't detect that they are clones. It looks quite stupid. I have a Nvidia card, drivers installed with Envy, configuration with Nvidia tools. In xorg.conf it says: Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Videocard0" Monitor "Monitor0" DefaultDepth 24 Option "TwinView" "1" Option "TwinViewXineramaInfoOrder" "CRT-0" Option "metamodes" "CRT: 1024x768 +0+0, TV: nvidia-auto-select +0+0; CRT: 832x624 +0+0, TV: nvidia-auto-select +0+0; CRT: 800x600 +0+0, TV: nvidia-auto-select +0+0; CRT: 640x480 +0+0, TV: nvidia-auto-select +0+0" EndSection I am using Ubuntu 8.04 (KDE3) and the same problem happened with 7.10. Also I have a suggestion for this package. Would it be possible to implement some kind of blacklist so that I can see my whole collection except a few files / folders.
