Package: kdm Version: 4:3.5.7-2+b1 As the following applies to GDM and XDM also the package that I'm reporting might be wrong but I don't know a better package to report this against.
I'm running Debian unstable and I'm unable to log in from the KDM after a dist-upgrade (has happened to 2 PC's already). When I type in my username and password i get "Login Failed". I check /var/log/auth.log and see: Aug 28 21:27:34 black kdm: :0[8423]: pam_unix(kdm:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=:0 ruser= rhost= user=myusername Aug 28 21:29:19 black kdm: :0[8647]: pam_unix(kdm:auth): check pass; user unknown So the log has only got my user=myusername correct. As uid is 0 then i guess no wonder he cannot find the user myusername with that uid. I've --reinstalled kdm, libpam-modules, libpam-runtime, libpam0g. I've also checked that I'm not missing anything from xorg or kde by trying to install the metapackages xorg and kde. Have not found anything missing. Other versions that might be of interest: ii libpam0g 0.99.7.1-2 ii libpam-runtime 0.99.7.1-2 ii libpam-modules 0.99.7.1-2 Toomas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
