On a trixie system I just set up, I somehow cannot get this to work, but it works on my bullseye system. My use case is I installed xdg-desktop-portal-kde for exactly one thing, which is to not have the Gtk+3 file chooser in Firefox (I’d actually prefer Qt’s like Mu͒seScore has, but KDE’s is sufficiently tolerable). What I try is: $ export GTK_USE_PORTAL=1 $ firefox Then press ^O or ^S to trigger a file load/save dialogue.
