Yes, that was an upstream default change. I must say I did follow the switch of the default without thinking too much about it and got accustomed to the new behaviour really quick. I’m not convinced that any of the options is definitely « better », both have advantages and drawbacks. Double click duration can be tweaked and so can many accessibility features like sticky / slow / bounce keys. Touch behaviour needs to be tweaked anyway for touch input regardless of whether the default is single or double click for non-touch. So I’m not going to diverge from the upstream default in the Debian package. > What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? > I went into System Settings → General Behavior → Click behavior and > manually switched it back to single-click. That’s interesting. I cannot reproduce what you describe here. When switching back to single click in the global settings I get back the previous behaviour : single click opens, files and folders have a + / - icon in their top left corner and I can select / deselect open the same as before. Can you explain in more details what behaviour is problematic for you ? Upstream still supports the single click mode so if you find bugs there I’m sure we can open a bug report on the KDE side.
