My plasmashell frequently consumes all the memory on my machine due to
this bug:

This patch appears to have been the fix:
https://invent.kde.org/qt/qt/qtwayland/-/commit/dc0d02ef4984281732fc5d2608e86771af5dde1f
It appears to have been applied to experimental(5.15.15-1) already, but
would like it ported to stable.
