I have noticed this behavior on my laptop when I insert the CDROM. Before this my laptop (Inpiron 510m) has the auxiliary battery on the side bay, when I extract the battery, I insert the CDROM drive. In this moment, I see the kmilo window notification continuosly lowing the volume, as I would be pressing the volume down key continuously.
When this happens, I see the following messages in the syslog: Jan 29 11:31:56 parvo kernel: acpi_bus-0072 [169] bus_get_device : No con text for object [dfe829e8] Jan 29 11:31:56 parvo kernel: acpi_bus-0072 [169] bus_get_device : No con text for object [dfe829e8] Jan 29 11:31:56 parvo kernel: acpi_bus-0072 [169] bus_get_device : No con text for object [dfe829e8] I thought this were related to udev or dbus-1, but I tried stopping these services, and that I saw is a misfunction in kmilo and kded. You can see my versions in the attached file. I use testing. At the moment I don't know where to follow this issue, but I hope this clues help to discover the bug. -- Raúl Sánchez Siles
