the problem was caused by some unknown miss configuration. I got arround it with following procedure (all moves where done using vt's user was not logged in with kde at this time):
1. mv ~/.kde/share/config ~/.kde/share/config.sav 2. log on to kde - some config wizard is running - sound should work after that 3. log off again 4. mv ~/.kde/share/config ~/.kde/share/config.works 5. mv ~/.kde/share/config.sav ~/.kde/share/config I dont know why, but this does the job for me. peter -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
