I see two possibilities: 1) You don't have xfonts-konsole installed (which konsole Recommends) 2) You don't have bitmap fonts enabled in /etc/fonts/local.conf I think that either of those could cause your problem, at least, I have had the same problem for both of those reasons in the past. Josh
