Both output UTF-8 so my locales are correct Oo,
also: it probably is not relevant, but @euro is not necessary, I
think, with UTF-8 locales, and perhaps is confusing kde. what happens
if you try with fr_FR.UTF-8 alone?

That made the trick ! The "euro" thing break everything, or maybe
[EMAIL PROTECTED] is infact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
So the bug is fixed by using fr_FR.UTF-8
