I have the same problem (Konqueror doesn't remember file associations). To install the system I tried both the installer beta 4 and RC1.
The strange thing is that I have another computer with sarge installed and Konqueror does remember file associations. The only difference I know is that I used an old version of the installer (I don't remember which one). I hope this can be useful. bye Emanuele
