On the first attempt to connect to port 5900, the connection is made, there is a short pause, and the connection is dropped (with no RFB preamble). Subsequent attempts result in connections that are immediately dropped. On the server, a space in the toolbar (for notification?) is allocated and then immediately deallocated with each attempt. Uninvited vs. invited sessions seem to make no difference. I've come to rely heavily on remote desktop sharing. I'll be happy to provide any information that would help resolve this. Please do not copy me on updates. K, thanks. The fix was not in upstream 3.2.2 yet, but calc always incorporates the current patches from KDE_3_2_BRANCH when making his packages. This means the patch got into the 3.2.2 packages. cheers domi
