The original problem of fonts being hardly readable, etc. is now solved, but the default "normal" or "medium" font in the konsole window is too wide. All other fonts are now okay, just this konsole one is irritating. I tried it as a different user, surprisingly, the default konsole font is rendered properly. Could it be an upgrade issue? Since the font worked for the other user, it couldn't be a fontconfig / bitmapped fonts issue. -- Amit Shah Codito Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
