I do not have kdcop, only dcop (though I just checked with apt-file and ist says: kdebase-bin: usr/bin/kdcop ) I check that tonight. dcop exists and tells me: kded konqueror-733 konqueror-734 konqueror-735 konqueror-728 and if I ask him to --list-sessions: Active sessions for user /home/helge : .DCOPserver_sixtyfor__0 > The dcopserver is supposed to be started by kde apps if it is not > already running. I can provide you with a ps-listing if this helps you. I do see dcop running. > The klauncher warning is probably unrelated to the bug, as it is > issued by kded when it can't run the cache update program with > klauncher. What I did: I closed all konqueror windows, and started a new one -- same problem, klauncher warning, not working. Then I closed this window, *killed dcop* and started a new konqueror. Now it is working like a charm. This of course, defeat the session management, since closing all windows I want to avoid. Next time, I simply try to kill dcop without closing the windows -- maybe this helps, too. Greetings Helge -- Helge Kreutzmann, Dipl.-Phys.
