Package: kdelibs-bin Version: 4:3.1.4-3 Severity: minor I experimented a little with konqueror, and moved my (old) .kde away to test. After the testing I renamed the (newly created) .kde directory and wanted to move my old .kde back as .kde. At this time, konqueror (the only KDE app I regularly use) did not run (I explicitly quit it and waited for a moment). Nevertheless, the .kde-directory was always silently recreated. Finally I killed dcop and then I was able to rename my old .kde directory back.
It is very annoying if, after an application has been quit, its config directory is still silently managed (recreated). It looks to me like the windows "If the user is so stupid to delete this important file, I put it back myself" "feature". This is ok, if the application in question (here: konqueror) is restarted, but if I quit it I want to be able to do system maintenance without fighting with a program about it! And now, I was using plain window maker, so no other KDE application where started (at least to my knowledge, I started only konqueror from the menu entry). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: alpha Kernel: Linux sixtyfor 2.4.21-pre1 #1 Don Okt 2 18:27:25 CEST 2003 alpha Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Versions of packages kdelibs-bin depends on: ii kdelibs4 4:3.1.4-3 KDE core libraries ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.8-1 The Gnome 2 canvas widget - runtim ii libarts1 1.1.4-3 aRts Sound system ii libasound2 0.9.8-2 Advanced Linux Sound Architecture ii libaudio2 1.6b-1 The Network Audio System (NAS).
