qt-copy has a fix for this in qmake/generators/unixmake2.cpp IIRC. Martin, can you make a diff against qt-copy and exclude the patches dir ? That has all trolltech-unapproved patches in, so one diff should be quite sufficient to catch the two changes that are in qt-copy already. Don't use the patches directory though in your build until we've figured out what's changed where.
