This appeared sometimes in the last 2 months. Systems that have not been
updated for 2 months or so are OK. All systems with an update from this
week are definitely broken. 

This is cosmetic but it makes mc (vertical lines have breaks), nethack
and a few other usual favourite VT100 suspects look very ugly.
