I upgraded to Kernel 2.6.11 and also had to use the NVIDIA Patch to be able to compile the NVIDIA Kernel Module. Shortly after that I dist-upgraded my system. Now X Work. xlgears work in a startxed session. KDM starts and displays the login screen. As soon as I click on anything on the KDM Logon Screen, KDM crashed with Sig 11.
