Hi ho,

My understanding is that Replaces is used when some files move from one
package to another (as happens all the time with kdelibs, base, office,
etc), whereas Conflicts/Replaces is used when one package completely
replaces another (as is the case here). A rereading of policy confirms
my belief in this.

At any rate: why are you opposed to adding the Conflicts? I don't see
how it can possibly hurt in any way.

Ben.
