In addition, it may (or will?) happen that at the next start of KMail (after deleting the lock file) the mail folders are not in the state they have been in before the exit. Mails already deleted appear in the inbox again (if I remember correctly), messages which were already read are marked as unread, etc. *) I use German localization. In German, the item is called "Abmelden..." which corresponds to the English "Logout...". However, I don't now exactly if the item is named "Logout..." when using the C locale. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i586) Kernel: Linux 2.6.7-pike Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Versions of packages kmail depends on: ii kdebase-kio-plugins 4:3.2.2-1 KDE I/O Slaves ii kdelibs4 4:3.2.3-2 KDE core libraries ii ktnef 4:3.2.2-2 KDE TNEF viewer ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-6 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-5 client library to control the FAM ii libgcc1 1:3.4.1-4sarge1 GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-9 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkcal2 4:3.2.2-2 KDE calendaring library ii libkdenetwork2 4:3.2.2-2 KDE Network library ii libkdepim1 4:3.2.2-2 KDE PIM library ii libksieve0 4:3.2.2-2 KDE mail/news message filtering li ii libmimelib1 4:3.2.2-2 KDE mime library ii libpcre3 4.5-1.1 Perl 5 Compatible Regular Expressi ii libpng12-0 1.2.5.0-7 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3c102-mt 3:3.3.3-4.1 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.4-6sarge1.2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxrender1 0.8.3-7 X Rendering Extension client libra ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System client libraries m ii zlib1g 1:1.2.1.1-7 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 274187-done) by bugs.debian.org; 25 Jan 2005 11:16:11 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 25 03:16:11 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from pooh.kjernsmo.net [217.77.32.186] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1CtOg7-0008PP-00; Tue, 25 Jan 2005 03:16:11 -0800 Received: from ti100710a080-3594.bb.online.no ([80.213.238.10]) by pooh.kjernsmo.net with esmtp (Exim 4.34) id 1CtOfc-0000ae-1S for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Tue, 25 Jan 2005 12:15:40 +0100 From: Kjetil Kjernsmo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Works in 3.3 Date: Tue, 25 Jan 2005 12:15:15 +0100 User-Agent: KMail/1.7.1 OpenPGP: id=0x5AA3F2C5FFBEA046CEEACB6D944FC6A76A6A0BBC; url=http://www.kjetil.kjernsmo.net/pgp.asc X-FOAF: http://www.kjetil.kjernsmo.net/foaf.rdf MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-Spam-Level: Hi! I looked a bit at what kmail does on exit, and can't see the previous problems. I note that: - It doesn't mark allready deleted messages as unread upon restart - The lock file is not deleted upon logout, but the PID is set to -1 - Cleaning up old messages is done by a background process, it says so in the KMail changelog, and it works! :-) So, it seems like all the reported problems works in the last version, so I'm closing the bug.
